Virender Sehwag became the second batsman to score more than 200 runs in ODI format. This record was first held by Sachin Tendulkar. So now India has both double-centurions. Virender Sehwag achieved this milestone while playing against West Indies at Holkar Cricket Stadium in Indore, Madhya Pradesh on 8th December 2011. Scored 219 runs from 149 balls with the help of 25 fours and 7 sixes. Kieron Pollard took his wicket Congrats Virender Sehwag

Rahul Dravid completed 13,000 test runs on Thursday while playing against West Indies. He is the second batsman in the history of cricket to cross this mark. He too 160 Test and 277 innings to reach this milestone. 2011 has been an outstanding year for Rahul Dravid, specially the England series where he scored while other members of team flopped. He has accumulated close to 1000 runs in current year - with one more test to go in December 2011

Photo by IBN Live The Pune Cantonment Board (PCB) recently repaired around half km of road outside Hutchings High School near Old Golibar Maidan by mixing bitumen with waste plastics. Plastic waste is one of the biggest pollutants to Indian cities - and recent development has worsened the situation in Pune city. The tar roads are very much vulnerable to water but polymer-modified bitumen increases the resistance to water within a very low cost. This entire project is being carried under the guidance and suggestions from Central Pollution Control Board (CPCB).
 

24x7 water supply proposal cleared

24x7 water supply proposal cleared
Pune Municipal Corporation (PMC)'s Standing committee has cleared the proposal for 24x7 water supply system in the city. Total cost of the project is pegged at Rs 1,800 crore. PMC. Contract has been given to a Italy based company named Studio Gallery Ingeria (SGI). This company will handle the full project, right from preparing the report to developing the system and then maintaining. Ironically this is the fifth time tender for 24x7 water supply was floated. The last four attempts failed due to technical reasons.

"Shakal Pe Mat Ja " is a very low budget Hindi comedy film. This film has been written and directly by Shubh Mukherjee who is also seen in the movie as main lead. The movie will make you laugh at times. And the youngsters have done good work. This film is a good try by the first time director - but there’s plenty of scope to learn for these youngsters. India won the second test match against West Indies with an inning and 15 runs. The match was held in Eden Gardens Kolkata. West Indies fought well in the second innings but could not make India bat second.

Shaniwarwada festival called off
Pune Municipal Corporation (PMC) cancelled the Shaniwarwada festival organised during the 10-day Ganesh festival. This is the first time this festival will not be held since its start 8 years ago. The festival was scheduled to start from September 8 2011 "The bomb blast in Delhi has created fear among people and raises security concerns" said Mayor Mohansingh Rajpal.
