Pune July 07 Slamming the Nationalist Congress Party (NCP), state BJP leader Gopinath Munde today said his party would not allow any redevelopment of the land where Bajaj Auto is located. “The BJP will stand by workers of Bajaj Auto. Once we come to power, we will not allow any other use of the Bajaj Auto factory land,” he said amidst thunderous applause from the crowd. Addressing an election meet organised to garner support for Chandrakant Patil, the BJP candidate for the Pune graduate constituency, in Chinchwad, Munde said, “There is no safety for people living in Pimpri-Chinchwad. Industries are closing down and workers are losing their jobs. Even Bajaj Auto will close down.” Castigating District Guardian Minister Ajit Pawar, Munde asked, “What benefit will he get by getting Bajaj Auto workers thrown out of their jobs? If the land on which the factory stands is used for other purpose, Pawar will make enough money to feed his generations...” “On what ground is the NCP asking people for votes? For making money in Lavasa city or for forcibly acquiring land in Pune ? I don’t understand whether Sharad Pawar is Agriculture Minister or Cricket Minister. Farmers are facing hardships and Pawar has no time for his ministry,” Munde continued. He said that the Graduate Assembly elections are a prelude to the coming Lok Sabha and Vidhan Sabha elections. The BJP’s and its allies have won the assembly elections in Bihar, Himachal Pradesh and Gujarat, he pointed out, adding that the party has also made a mark in the southern bastion by winning the Karnataka assembly elections. He said that the political scenario of the country has changed drastically from last year and “we will win the coming Maharashtra assembly elections”. BJP spokesperson Vinod Tawade said that there was no conducive atmosphere left in Pune for the IT industry to flourish. “The NCP is making money by selling land in Hinjewadi.”
