Marvel Realtors to invest Rs 2,100 cr in 3 projects

High-end real estate developer Marvel Realtors will invest Rs 2,100 cr to set up two residential and one commercial projects in prime business locations in Pune over next three to four years.

This investment is considered to be crucial as the firm plans to deliver residential units costing more than Rs 1 crore in the wake of the on-going slump in the real estate market.

Marvel realtors are setting up residential projects namely Marvel Zephyr and Marvel Isola in Kharadi and NIBM Road in Pune, which will jointly see an investment of Rs 1,200 cr.

Tube Investments to supply car doors for Nano from Pune plant

Chennai, Nov 11 (IANS) Tube Investments of India (TI), a Rs.17.82-billion multi-product firm, has announced it will supply door frames to Tata Motors’ small car Nano from its Pune manufacturing facility.

With Tata Motors walking out of Singur in West Bengal following public protests against the project, vendors too have started shifting their production lines.

The car manufacturer moved its plant to produce the world’s cheapest car, priced at Rs.100,000, from Singur to Sanand in Gujarat last month.

Tata Motor clarifies on Pune Plant Operations

Tata Motors Ltd has clarified with reference to the news item appearing in the newspapers on Tata Motor may shut the Company's Plant in Pune from November 22 - 27, 2008, that the Company, in its course of operation, adjusts its production to meet the demand for its products, like working on single shift basis or three shift basis instead of normal / double shift operations as also temporary shut down.

Pune to host men's Asia Cup

Pune (PTI): Somdev Devvarman, country's newly-crowned number one singles player, will spearhead the Indian challenge at USD 1,00,000 Asia Cup -- a team event restricted only for Asian players -- to be held here from December 27.

Judicial custody for 5 Malegaon blast suspects

Nashik: Five Malegaon blast suspects — Ajay Eknath Rahirkar, Jagdish Chintaman Mhatre, Rakesh Dattaram Dhawde, Sameer Kulkarni and Ramesh Upadhyay — have been remanded to judicial custody till November 17 by a Nashik court. Their police custody ended on Monday. Public prosecutor Ajay Misar had sought police custody for Dhawde and Rahirkar.

: Commercial consumers and industries in Pune urban circle who consume more than 300 units per month will have to bear a significantly high
reliability charge of 80 paise to Rs 1.30 per unit if rate for securing additional power to keep Pune free from power cuts is revised from Rs 8.54 to Rs 10 per unit as proposed by state energy minister Dilip Walse-Patil on Sunday.

Currently, with the purchase rate fixed at Rs 8.54, consumers using more than 300 units per month are paying a reliability charge of 48 paise per unit to keep the city free from load-shedding.

Enough of civic garbage: villagers want dump moved

Pune, November 09 For years, people on the outskirts of Pune have been seeing their villages being turned into a dumping ground for the city’s garbage. Villagers of Uruli Devachi and Phursungi had wanted state pollution control authorities to rein in the Pune Municipal Corporation (PMC), alleging they were facing health hazards.

But to their dismay, the Maharashtra Pollution Control Board (MPCB) has failed to take any action other than issuing notices to the civic body for “unscientifically” dumping the garbage.

This time, prepaid rickshaw services to be run by NGOs

PUNE: The Regional Transport Authority (RTA) has decided to revive its system of a prepaid auto rickshaw services at Shivajinangar, Swargate and
Pune Station ST stands. The RTA has also decided to have rickshaw stands at most chowks on Laxmi road.

The decision was announced at a meeting by the Pune internal transport committee on Thursday. The meeting was presided over by Manoj Patil, deputy commissioner of police (transport). Representatives of various transport organisations were present at the meeting.
