Coca Cola opens world-class lab

Coca-Cola has opened a state-of-the-art ‘Analytical Services Centre' in Pune that will provide analytical and technical support to Coca-Cola's operations in India and South Asia as well as to countries in Eastern Europe, southern Eurasia and West Asia.

Built with an investment of over Rs.18-crore, the world-class laboratory is one of six locations strategically selected by the company for the creation of a global network of analytical testing facilities.

Coca Cola launches analytical centre in Pune

The Coca Cola Company has launched an analytical services center at Pune. The company has invested over Rs 18 crore in the 2,000-sq-mtr facility. The laboratory is designed with a view to provide the company with analytical and technical support for its operations in India, South Asia and some parts of eastern Europe, southern Eurasia and West Asia.

This will be the sixth such lab, others being in Brussels (Belgium), Shanghai (China), Johannesburg (South Africa), Mexico City (Mexico) and Atlanta (USA).

Pune pedals hard to reach the first Lifecycle mall

Mumbai: Did you know that the ubiquitous bicycle can actually cost more than a Maruti-Suzuki car? Well, actually it can. A ‘Giant’ or ‘Bianchi’ mountain terrain bike (MTB) actually costs a whopping Rs2.5 lakh and is now available at ‘Lifecycle’ Pune, which could be India’s largest speciality cycle mall.

Spread over 6,000 sq feet, Lifecycle has three floors and is choc-a-bloc with at least 160 cycles from eight of the leading international brands, namely, Giant, Trek, Bianchi, Merida, Firefox, Cannodale, Rockrider, Schwinn and B-Twin.

Two and steady, wheels the race: Mahindra

Mahindra Two Wheelers, back in September 2009 launched two scooters. This was nearly the time when Bajaj Auto had given up on scooters and thrown in the towel and decided to stick to motorbikes. Hypothetically, if Bajaj does not succeed in selling bikes then would it give up that segment and stick to small cars?

India’s first bicycle mall opens in Pune

Pune, Jan 27 (IANS) India’s first mall exclusively for bicycles was inaugurated here Wednesday.
Inaugurating the Lifecycle mall, Maharashtra Navnirman Sena (MNS) chief Raj Thackeray said he wholeheartedly supported the idea of people switching over to bicycles.

“He also became the first customer by buying a folding Dovan bicycle for his family and hoped that others would follow suit,” Manish Sabade, excited owner of the mall, told IANS.

The 6,000-square feet building houses over 200 models of the top bicycles from all over the country and the world.

Tata Comm. opened its datacenter in Pune

Bangalore: Tata Communications has unveiled a nearly 55,000 square-foot datacenter, its largest such facility to date in India, reports TMCnet.com. The datacenter is designed to offer collocation, managed hosting and storage, as well as CDN and managed security services.

Wilo plans Rs 150-cr expansion

PUNE: Mather and Platt Pumps (M+P), the Indian subsidiary of the German pumps major, Wilo, is expanding its operation across the country and is
investing Rs 150 crore at its two major sites — Pune and Kolhapur.

In April, M+P will open a new, Rs 100-crore plant in Kolhapur for manufacturing the Wilo range of pumps for the domestic market and the Mather and Platt range for Wilo’s global requirements.

With the start of production at Kolhapur, the existing M+P plant at Chinchwad, near Pune, will focus on the manufacture of engineered products, M+P MD RP Bhatia said.

Largest Data Center Till Date in India by Tata Communications

The Tata Group in India is one of the most prestigious business groups of the country, having been in existence even a century before the nation became independent. Yet it continues to survive and expand crossing new frontiers each time.

The 55,000-square-feet data center will offer a range of services including collocation, managed hosting and storage and a suite of complementary services including managed security services and CDN services.

Tata Comm to invest Rs 500 cr in Pune data centre

MUMBAI: Tata Communications (TCL) will invest Rs 500 crore in its data centre in Pune. The company is betting big on the managed services business
that has gained scale post the economic slowdown. The centre, offering co-location, managed hosting and storage, apart from other services, has already roped in some large and medium enterprises as clients.
