In line with its recent expansion into the Gujarat market and having consolidated its market position in Mumbai, DNA, the fastest growing newspaper has now launched in Pune.
K U Rao, CEO, DNA, says "In line with strategy to become the dominant player of Western India, DNA has expanded to Pune after Gujarat and in markets where we operate, we intend to be the leader both in circulation and revenue."
Rao further states that the overall target is to make DNA a Rs 1000 crore company by 2011 and the Pune edition would give around 10 percent of that number.
The Pune edition is going to be custom designed for the Pune readers and though a large part of it will have content similar to the Mumbai edition, it has been designed keeping in mind the local tastes.
Says Sheena Saji, Marketing head, DNA, "The paper will be initially printed and published from Mumbai, while a state-of-the-art plant is currently under construction in Pune. And, is expected to be commissioned by end May. The Pune team is fully staffed up with more than a 100 people on-ground."

Kharadi Shivane Road
It is said that Kharadi Shivane Road will be ready before the commonwealth Games 2008. But as per the Local Corporator There is still land aqusition problem in Karvenagar area. Even corporation has received Rs 900 crores for this work. Irrigation Dept also cleared this road from water level problem.
All Punekars are facing problem with huge traffic jams on karve road from 8am till 10pm throughout the day.
If this Kharadi Shivane Road will get ready at earliest will solve above problem. Alos commuters will reach city or go out of city in short time with saving of fuel.
