Hrishikesh Kanitkar

Hrishikesh Kanitkar born on 14 November 1974 in Pune. Left Hand Batsman and a Right Arm Off Break bowler, who plays for Maharashtra, made his Test debut in 1999/00 2nd Test India v Australia at Melbourne, ODI debut was at Indore India Vs Sri Lanka, 2nd ODI, 1997/98. Hemant Kanitkar Hirishikesh Kanitkar's father, had played two Tests against West Indies in 1974-75.
Kanitkar is most remembered for his winning boundary off Saqlain Mushtaq of Pakistan at Dhaka in January 1998 when the team chased a 300 plus target in the Independence Cup final.

He played for Maharashtra in the Ranji Trophy for three years before entering in to the Indian Team. He developed interest in cricket at the age of seven. From his childhood he used to listen to the cricket discussions which were going on in his family. In the 80's he got selected in the Maharashtra under 15 team, and later on in the under 19 team of India.
