Mangalwar Peth

In 1662 when Shaiste Khan had came to Pune with an intention to defeat Shivaji Maharaj, the Place where he stayed was known as 'Shaistepura', the same place today is known as Mangalwar Peth. It was also known as 'Astapura'. This area was famous for different businesses. Mangalwar Peth was destroyed during the Panshet dam's flood. The Temple of 'Trishund Ganapati' and 'Omkareshwar' is located in this area. Kamala Nehru Hospital is also located in this Peth. Today the business of transportation is carried out in this area.
