Interactivity is a defining characteristic & a perfect application of this are the newspapers. To identify & foster human intelligence for the benefit of the society & stimulate awareness through social opportunities is what Mr. Shyam Agarwal has administered.
Born on 10th April 1948 in Haryana, but brought up in Pune, the Ex-Wadia student. Mr. Agarwal's reading & writing credentials triggered his responses to start the 1st Hindi weekly in Pune by the name of 'Raviwar ka Anand' in 1971. The initial version had a minimum circulation but after lasting for about 8 years it was upgraded to an impacting daily by the name of 'Aaj Ka Anand' in 1979. The name 'Anand' is inherited from Mr. Agarwal's elder son Anand whose birth coincides with the launch of 'Ravivar Ka Anand' on 11 Dec 1971. Till that time only a handful Hindi language newspapers were published in Maharashtra, most of them belonged to big business houses and were merely supplementary to their main publication.
