Mr. Ashtekar completed his graduation in the year 1982 and joined the family business of Silver, Gold, Diamond and pearls. He started the "Suvarnratna" firm. His grandfather was from the village of (Marathwada) named 'Ashti' and later on settled in Pune. Earlier he worked for others and then he started his own business as a Goldsmith. Now his grand son, Mr. Nitin Ashtekar started the new showroom of 7500 sq ft at Laxmi Road by the name of "Suvarnaratna".

He did his schooling from Nutan Marathi Vidhyalay Pune, and completed his graduation from BMCC College.
